Cloudia encourages coworkers to express feelings by pulling colored raindrops from a ‘small’ cloud, indicating emotion strength and nuance. This data is displayed on a ‘big’ cloud, showing common workplace emotions. Cloudia aims to foster conversations, prevent emotional hiding, and reduce psychological distress-related sickness absences.
Cloudia will stimulate coworkers to open up about their feelings in a playful and simple manner. Cloudia consists of two parts. A data-gathering part and a data-displaying part. Each coworker expresses their feelings by pulling down coloured raindrops from the ‘small’ cloud, each representing a certain emotion. The further they pull it, the stronger this emotion is. By pulling down multiple raindrops they can add nuance to their emotional input.
Then, this data will be visualised on the ‘big’ cloud. This cloud shows the common emotions of the whole working space, so of all workers in that space at that time. Cloudia should make the workers aware of the emotions that are ‘hanging’ in the space. This can stimulate them to start a conversation, preventing them from hiding their emotions, which may decrease their risk of long-term sickness absence due to psychological distress.
